Who Knew you could bake cupcake batter inside an ice cream cone? Wouldn’t the cone just fall apart?
This adorable cupcake cone was made by filling the ice cream cone 2/3 full of cake batter. I used a white cake mix. The box of cake mix called for 28 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Stand the cupcakes upright in muffin tins. I am looking for a stand that will keep them more secure in the oven as my cones were about 1/2 the size of the mufffin tin hole. The cupcakes were done in 25 minutes. After cooling, I dipped them in melted Chocolate fudge icing, then rolled them in sprinkles that were spread out on waxed paper.
This is a simple recipe, but makes an adorable and unusual cupcake. I only made three to test, but imagine how cute these would be on a cupcake stand. You can have a lot of fun with different colors of icing and decorations. You could even put a scoop of ice cream on top before serving.
